A Beautiful Grade II Listed Holiday Cottage near Cheltenham & Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire

Lying in the tiny hamlet of Deerhurst Walton, this holiday property is a converted, Grade II listed dovecote. Set in the grounds of the owner’s 17th-century farm, this romantic 2 bedroomed conversion has been lovingly converted into a 2 bedroom property. It offers both comfortable contemporary styling along with the hallmarks of times gone by, with accommodation for up to 4 people which retains the character and history of the original building.

The property overlooks a large duck pond which is a haven for birdwatching and wildlife. Egrets and kingfishers are frequent visitors.

Downstairs is an open plan layout making it a wonderful social space to enjoy as one. French doors open out onto your own private terrace area that looks directly out onto the pond area. The perfect spot to read the morning paper with a warm cup of coffee and breakfast alfresco. There is also a wood burning stove for cosy days and nights in.

Upstairs is truly unique with exposed beams and original pigeon holes create an impressive feature in both bedrooms and bathroom. In the main bedroom there is a Superking bed, wardrobe and drawers with views overlooking the duck pond. A further double bedroom with additional single bed (for alternative sleeping only). There is shared bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

This impressive country home is right on the edge of the glorious Cotswolds. Perfectly located to explore all that Gloucestershire’s has to offer by foot bike or car. Within a short 5 minute drive is the medieval town of Tewkesbury where you can enjoy weaving in and out of independent shops, tea rooms and antique emporiums. Being a traditional waterside town why not take a leisurely afternoon walk along the river banks depending on the weather you may be able to hope on a river cruise along the River Avon. For a historic expedition be sure to visit the world famous Tewkesbury Abbey which has been embedded into the landscape for nearly 900 years. There are many local festivals including the Medieval Festival in Tewksbury, the Jazz, Literature and Science festival in Cheltenham and the famous Cheltenham race course. Also within easy distance are Cheltenham (6 miles), Gloucester (8 miles), Ledbury (16 miles) and a good location for exploring the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean.
